My pursuit of technical rock climbing began as a means to chase bigger alpine summits and big backcountry adventures. As my skills developed and I began to lead, what started as a means to an end became a passion of it’s own. While I still use these skills for big days in the backcountry (such as Weavers Needle and Baboquivari Peak) I now find myself chasing small technical spires and summits across the southwest, from the sandstone of the Grand Canyon and Sedona, to the rough Granite of the McDowells and Mount Lemmon. I’m certainly no 5.10 leader, but you’ll find plenty of trip reports for easy and moderate routes across Arizona and Southern California.
